The Moon Deck
44 illustrated cards + guidebook co - created with Author Aarona Lea.
I created the original art for 44 cards, the guide book cover, box design and notebooks. I combined several different techniques to create The Moon Deck illustrations. The imagery was hand drawn with graphite pencils on coffee stained watercolor paper to add warmth. I painted on silk separately to add organic shapes, color and texture to the backgrounds. Then combined the drawings and silk paintings with photoshop to create dreamy, layered designs.
Naturally
Dyed Silks
I create one-of-a-kind silk wearables using flowers, plant extracts, and non-toxic metallic salts.
Much like cooking, silk is carefully bundled, steamed over the stove, and immersed in brewed botanical dye baths, allowing organic color and pattern to emerge naturally. This slow, alchemical process is inspired by the teachings of India Flint, whose work has generously illuminated this beautiful way of working with cloth.
Recycling flowers from meaningful events and weddings offers a stunning and lasting way to preserve the essence of a special moment —transforming fleeting beauty into a wearable or textile heirloom.
